Course description:
A report can be accurate and still be hard to read. This course shows you how to go beyond the Format pane defaults and build reports that look and read like finished, professional products.
You'll learn number formats that adapt to the data, colour and icons driven by rules and measures, titles and tooltips that narrate the numbers, and report-wide branding that holds together on every page. Every technique is demonstrated live, with commented measures and DAX patterns you can cuse immediately
Course overview:
Module 1: Formatting Fundamentals
Data types and formats that display correctly by default
Custom number format strings: thousands, millions, padded codes, cents
Dynamic number formats that switch between $, K and M as the data scales
Percentages and positive/negative variances
Module 2: Conditional and Rule-Based Formatting
Background and font colour rules, driven by thresholds or by a field value
Icon sets from numeric thresholds and text conditions
Gradient heat-maps with sequential and diverging scales
Actual vs target with status colours and icons
Line charts: threshold-coloured markers and legends that fade by recency
Module 3: Narrating the Data
Advanced tooltips that explain a data point on hover
Dynamic titles that respond to slicers and selections
Narrative summary text built with DAX, and when to use it instead of Smart Narrative
Module 4: Calculations Behind Formatting
Colour logic defined in measures, with a central palette
Visual calculations vs DAX: where each is the better tool
Custom total rows, and when a total needs its own logic
Format strings as measures
A two-measure technique for changing a line's colour
Module 5: Interactivity as Formatting
Field parameters to switch fields and bin widths
Bookmark-driven navigation and a hidden filter panel that keeps its selections
A values toggle to switch measures

Reading and editing theme JSON, and what a theme does and doesn't control
